The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT is Europe's leading centre for contract research and development in the field of laser technology. The Thin Film Processing group specialises in laser-based processes for sintering electrochemical layers for solid-state batteries.

One focus is the production of a new type of solid-state electrolyte for use in battery cells. The comprehensive process development, from the characterisation of the optical properties of the starting materials to the scaling up of laser sintering to an industrial scale, takes place in cooperation between the Fraunhofer ILT and partners from industry and research.

What you will do
  • Planning, preparation and execution of experiments
  • Analysing samples and documenting the results
What you bring to the table
  • You are studying physics, mechanical engineering, materials science, materials engineering, chemistry or a comparable degree programme
  • Interest in technical problems as well as a responsible, careful and structured way of working
  • Previous knowledge of laser technology, NC machine programming and/or the Python programming language can be an advantage, but is not mandatory

Remuneration is based on the general works agreement on the employment of auxiliary staff.
The weekly working hours are from 10 to 18 hours and will be agreed individually at the interview.

The position is initially limited to 12 months, a longer term is possible.
