Customer Monitoring Centre IT Engineer
What you will do:
Do you have experience in application support? Join us and apply modern strategies and best practices to our monitoring team's applications and service platforms (Fire/Security Monitoring, Managed Access, Hosted Video) for Germany and Switzerland Customer Monitoring Centre systems.
You will develop tools and automation systems for the deployment, provisioning and configuration management of hundreds of servers and handle Info Sec requests for vulnerability remediation, patching and AV/Compliance software installations.
How you will do it:
- Provide level 2/3 technical support to the Monitoring, Access control and Video applications group for Germany and Switzerland systems
- Ensure system uptime and availability (>99.999%) for all life-safety applications – Monitoring, Video and Communications.
- Ensure rapid response on-call services
- Manage new software updates and enhancements (patches/upgrades).
- Address IT vulnerabilities for systems using the CVE Vulnerability DB. Make recommendations.
- Provide application support to technical teams and the business.
- Build or upgrade application hardware and software.
- Develop deployment and automation methodologies and systems.
- Document product build, deployment and changes.
- Work with Info Sec teams on vulnerability remediation strategies and processes.
- Coordinate with suppliers for solution enhancement requests or fixes when needed.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans as a highly skilled team member.
Required
- IT acumen and understanding on developing, deploying and maintaining application environments.
- Knowledge of virtualisation, containers and container management systems.
- Knowledge of IT systems and concepts (networking, hosting, scripting, database management).
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Excellent problem assessment and troubleshooting skills.
- Fluent in German.
- Good communication skills and ability to communicate technical issues to vendors, team members and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other teams as required.
- Strong service attitude and commitment to quality
- Willingness to be on call on a rotating weekly basis.
- Driving Licence
- Certifications in relevant technologies (CCNA, MCSE, etc.)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, MSSQL Studio, etc.)
- Good written and spoken English.
- Background knowledge of systems used in our Customer Monitoring Centres (CMC) such as FELS, MASter Mind, LISA, video surveillance solutions, SQL, Windows and Linux.
- Overview of surveillance/security technologies
