Who will you be joining?
This dynamic role offers exposure to various aspects of Allianz SE’s Reinsurance Accounting function, where high-quality standards and performance excellence are at the core of serving our customers and stakeholders while processing diverse data efficiently.
As a team leader, you will oversee the reinsurance accounts for Allianz Group’s internal business and third-party clients. Your responsibilities will include ensuring data quality, maintaining compliance with internal and external accounting and reporting standards, and adhering to reinsurance accounting principles and guidelines.You will also drive innovation and process improvements, strengthen internal controls, and foster strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Additionally, in collaboration with other team leaders, you will manage and contribute to Allianz Reinsurance’s monthly and quarterly financial closing in accordance with German accounting principles and IFRS 17. Beyond your regular tasks, you will play a pivotal role in cross-functional projects and lead key initiatives, giving you the opportunity to shape the future of reinsurance accounting services.
How can you make an impact?
You will:
- Lead the Quality Management team and support the Head of Reinsurance Accounting in managing the Global Reinsurance Accounting process
- Ensure compliance with internal and external accounting and reporting standards
- Establish, implement, and enforce high data quality standards and efficient processes
- Drive innovation and change while addressing increasing regulatory demands and business growth
- Oversee the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including analysis and resolution of intercompany discrepancies
- Apply internal and external accounting and reporting standards, including German Accounting Principles, IFRS, and Solvency II
- Empower your team to optimize operational efficiency through best practices
- Provide technical training and development opportunities to enhance accounting capabilities
- Lead key projects and drive strategic initiatives across teams
- 3 to 5 years’ experience of leading a team, monitoring performance and ensuring your team is focused on key challenges at all times ideally within an (re)insurance environment
- University degree in Business administration (preferably with the focus on accounting) or comparable education (Certified Accountant) and / or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in (re)insurance operations and knowledge of reinsurance terms and conditions, in particular with regards to technical accounts
- Passionate on empowering your team to be reinsurance accounting experts
- You must enjoy interacting with others, building strong internal and external relationships and have excellent communication skills to drive and foster a team culture
- You should be confident handling, analysing and interpreting data
- You should thrive in a fast-paced environment and get a sense of achievement meeting goals and targets
- Ability of developing and applying operational excellence including process structure, process efficiency and process documentation
- Experience in working with reinsurance administration and accounting software
- IT literate including Excel at advanced level
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
