Job Purpose/ Role
The Expert P&C Special Topics position is based at Allianz Re in Munich and reports to the Head of Capital and Legacy Solutions. This department includes Capital Management Reinsurance (P&C), Legacy Management, and Special Topics, the latter with a focus on the Allianz Mobility business.
For the Allianz Mobility business, Allianz Re supports the Allianz Group in expanding its global mobility and automotive re/insurance offerings. Collaborating closely with Allianz Partners, we provide innovative and tailored insurance solutions to multinational clients and fleets, reinsuring Allianz and third-party insurance companies worldwide.
This role involves analyzing new business opportunities and performing annual renewals of reinsurance transactions, with a focus on underwriting, pricing, and wording analysis. It requires conducting analytics and driving solutions in a complex and competitive environment, while collaborating with internal and external partners and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities- Analyze non-life treaty submissions from internal and external customers for the Allianz Mobility business.
- Conduct pricing and prepare/review reinsurance treaties for internal and external business, ensuring alignment with Allianz Re Guidelines, and coordinate with other AZ Re teams such as Pricing, Accounting, Reserving, and Technical Underwriting.
- Collaborate with all AZ Mobility functions in Allianz Partners to ensure smooth collaboration and efficient processes from both business and governance perspectives.
- Evaluate market trends and technical aspects relevant to the Allianz Mobility sector.
- Support in analyzing portfolios to enhance business understanding and suggest improvements.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) and ideally one other language, German is an advantage, additional languages a plus
- University degree (master or equivalent) in mathematics, statistics, science, business administration, economics or finance.
- Excellent MS-Office skills, particularly in Excel and SharePoint/MS Teams.
- Additional Accreditation in Motor or one P&C line of business is a plus (e.g. P&C Academy).
- Work experience (>3 years) in P&C underwriting positions in reinsurance companies or direct insurance.
- Understanding of underwriting, reinsurance practices and actuarial issues.
- Experience in motor insurance on the technical side is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to critically assess both quantitative and qualitative reinsurance aspects, with the ability to interpret and work with contract wordings.
- Result-oriented with a process-driven mindset, demonstrating a proactive approach and commitment to innovation and improvement.
- Ability to communicate complex results and abstract concepts effectively to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in building and maintaining productive business relationships, with experience in stakeholder management and client-focused roles.
- Strong team player, capable of collaborating across a global organization, functions, and cultures, valuing diverse perspectives and sharing expertise.
- Experience in both accepted and ceded reinsurance, across different companies/OEs and/or with international exposure, is a plus.
