Product Development Engineer

Übersicht:
Reporting to the department Manager, the Product Development Engineer / Cryogenic pumps is responsible for the design of centrifugal pumps. The development engineer is in charge of the project from concept studies to product launch, is involved in all phases of the project (concept, modeling, testing).
Verantwortungsbereiche:
- Review design specifications, when applicable.
- Perform technical feasibility studies and come up with solutions.
- Issue the calculations notes as well as any justifying document for selecting/designing components, as needed for design reviews, regulatory certifications, or application engineering.
- Prepare P&ID for pumping skids assemblies and auxiliary systems.
- 3-D modeling in SolidWorks.
- When needed, review and draft manufacturing assembly and detail drawings, as well as assembling instructions.
- Select the proper tolerance classes for the components.
- Select or design the special tools needed for assembling or repairing the new equipment.
- Prepare workshop checklists and pump maintenance manual.
- Define and implement the needed reliability and durability testing, document the collected data.
- Build-up the technical relationship with the critical suppliers and support the qualification process.
Qualifikationen:
- Master's degree in engineering (mechanical, machinery, process engineering)
- Fluent in speaking and writing in English language.
- Proficiency in CAD Software and 3D-modeling (SolidWorks is preferred) as well as Microsoft Office suite.
- Understanding P&IDs, designing of small systems, selecting instruments.
- Mechanical calculations, bearing selection, manufacturing tolerances.
- Well-organized and self-standing team-worker, accurate, pragmatic, with high work ethics.
- Background with
- Centrifugal pumps and/or reciprocating, ideally in Cryogenics (API 610, API 685, etc.)
- Pressure vessels and piping, ASME, PED, ATEX.
- Selection of hydraulic components or sensors: valves, actuators, transmitters, etc.
- Also good to have:
- Marine regulations (DNV, Lloyd’s, ABS, etc.) is a plus.
- Specification of motors and instruments, managing the relationship with suppliers.
- Operation requirements for Oxygen systems and material compatibility
