The Department of Cardiology and Angiology at the University Heart Center Freiburg-Bad Krozingen offers a
Ph D position in Cardiovascular Immuno-Imaging (m/f/d)
The research group led by Dr. Alexander Maier investigates cutting-edge translational immuno-imaging techniques in the cardiovascular field. The group develops and validates new in vivo readouts to track inflammatory cells following cardiac events, exploring their potential as a potential prognostic marker for cardiac outcomes, as well as assessing the efficacy of immune-modulating compounds.
This Else Kröner-Fresenius-Stiftung funded position is embedded in the excellent research environment of the University Heart Center Freiburg-Bad Krozingen. The multidisciplinary project will be conducted by a consortium of medical physicists, nuclear medicine experts and cardiologists.The position offers the opportunity to work on translational research projects at the interface of bench-to-bedside science, within a highly innovative environment.

What you bring:
- an excellent Master degree in Biology, Molecular Medicine or related field
- Experience with animal research is recommended
- Enthusiasm for science and the ambition to become an expert in your research field
- strong organization skills and the ability to work independently
- Motivation and ability to mentor students and contribute to other projects within our team
- good communication skills in both German and English
Your salary (TV-L E13) is part of a Else Kröner-Fresenius Stiftung grant, which aims to investigate the immune response in heart failure and atherosclerosis using various translational imaging approaches.
