Clinical Operations Delivery Team Lead

We are looking for a Clinical Operations Delivery Team Lead who is experienced in global clinical development operations and line management of Global teams to join us in our Program Delivery team, based in our Belgium/UK/ Monheim or US office in Brussels/Slough/Monheim/RTP.

About the role

The Clinical Operations Delivery Team Lead will lead and manage a team of up to 10 Program Delivery Leads based in US/EU/Asia, and ensures that the Program Delivery Lead team, together with Clinical/Medical Strategy Leads, deliver well-designed patient centric operational development plans and study concepts, integrating industry leading technology, robust feasibility assessments and robust clinical trial diversity planning, producing high quality data within budget and timelines.

Who you’ll work with

The Clinical Operations Delivery Team Lead will successfully collaborate and partner with all our internal and external stakeholders such as Asset Teams, Strategic Partners, Patients and Investigators and acts as contact between Global Clinical Scientific Operations, Asset Heads/Patient Community Heads and Partners for pipeline-related enquiries and updates.

What you’ll do
  • Assignment and Line management of Program Delivery Team assigned to allocated assets E2E.
  • Train, manage and deploy Program Delivery Leads in conjunction with the Head Program Delivery Lead, ensuring best in industry practices and ensuring high quality clinical project management/oversight consistent with applicable requirements.
  • Provide operational support to Program Delivery Leads, for the Clinical Development Programs of UCB to ensure that all clinical trial activities are planned optimally and competitively vs. industry benchmarks, conducted as planned and within budgets.
  • Be a manager, coach and mentor for assigned Program Delivery Leads and ensure highest standards and encourage/support personal and performance development and represent the Program Delivery team outside the department.
  • Generate, maintain and develop an innovative and positive working climate which will attract, retain and develop Program Delivery Leads and support everyone delivering to its best performance for achieving goals and objectives and highest standards deliverables.
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness. Initiate, contribute to and lead where appropriate process improvement activities associated with program delivery.
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 (Associate Director) years of experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and /or CRO industry is required.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional projects in a global environment and ideally at least 4 years of line management experience is required.
  • Clinical development experience as a Clinical Project Manager or a similar role is preferred. Previous experience in supervision of functions applicable to clinical trial management (e.g. Clinical Site Monitors) is required.
  • Self-starter ready with the ability to lead large and small global, cross functional teams.
  • Inspire, persuade, influence and gain other’s support for ideas and actions.
  • Strong communication and presentations skills.
