In this role, you will be responsible for mobile robotics development challenges, particularly in software development for mobile manipulation. You will be based in Gilching (near Munich), a city known as a hub for business and innovation. Here, you'll work on leading-edge products such as next-generation mobile robots, collaborative robots, and industrial robots, contributing to the next industrial revolution.

Your responsibilities
 •  Create and fine-tune sophisticated control algorithms for robots, ensuring precise movement, stability, and responsiveness
 •  Design fault-tolerant control strategies
 •  Build mathematical models of robotic systems to understand dynamics and interactions
 •  Implement controllers that adjust robot actions based on sensor feedback, ensuring accurate positioning and stability
 •  Optimize performance by considering dynamic factors (e.g., inertia, friction)
 •  Implement control algorithms on embedded hardware for real-time responsiveness
 •  Thoroughly test control strategies in simulated and real-world scenarios

Your background
 •  Several years (3+) of experience in mobile robotics, working as a Control Engineer with expertise in mobile manipulation
 •  Sound knowledge of control engineering methodologies and the mobile robotics market
 •  Knowledge of specialized software/platforms such as C++, Python, FreeRTOS, VXWorks, ROS, DDS, Ethercat, CAN
 •  Strong problem-solving and communication skills
 •  Completed master's degree in a relevant field is required, ideally complemented by a PhD
 •  Fluent in English, both written and spoken; German beneficial
