In this role you will carry out complex upgrade and retrofit automation projects. As a member of a project team, you will plan and execute the engineering and commissioning activities in the ABB office and on the project site in accordance with ABB processes, standards and safety guidelines.
You will provide excellent customer service by meeting customer needs while maintaining good relationships with customers. You will work with others to identify new business opportunities in the service area and help convince customers to utilize ABB's complete service portfolio.

Your responsibilities
• Execution of hardware and software engineering with a focus on automation of steam and gas turbines and other power plant areas
• Teamwork with project managers, project engineers and technicians as well as with customers, partners, subcontractors and suppliers
• Developing technical solutions during the engineering, installation and commissioning phases
• Carrying out commissioning work: Field and functional commissioning, start-up and documentation
• Supervision of subcontractors during the installation and commissioning phase
• Maintaining and increasing customer satisfaction through excellent service in all phases of the project
Your background
• Several years of experience in automation technology, as a service or project technician
• Sound knowledge of automation systems, ideally from ABB
• Experience in the industrial automation of energy systems
• A collaborative, solution-oriented approach and good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Willingness to travel, mainly within southern Germany
• A high degree of self-motivation, curiosity and the desire to familiarize yourself with new technologies
• Completed studies in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or process engineering; alternatively training with many years of professional experience
• German language skills, good written and spoken English skills
