About the Role:

As a Safety Test Lead Engineer in our ISO 17025-accredited Hardware Test Center Europe (HTC) in Böblingen, you will play a key role in ensuring product compliance and safety. You will oversee project management for international certification (NRTL), develop testing processes, and drive continuous improvement of safety procedures, making a direct impact in cutting-edge technology.

About the Team:

You will join a supportive team of 11 engineers and technicians specializing in regulatory compliance for product safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and environmental standards. Collaboration and knowledge-sharing are at the core of how we work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of product safety testing processes, including procedures, equipment, software, and training.
  • Evaluate electronic products and subassemblies for compliance with international safety standards.
  • Prepare and review test reports to meet accreditation requirements and document product compliance.
  • Collaborate with CSA to achieve NRTL product certification under the CPC program.
  • Stay informed of evolving safety standards and manage their application to new and existing products.
  • Represent Keysight in national and international standardization committees to contribute to industry advancements.

Qualifications:

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering
  • Several years of hands-on experience as a Product Regulatory Engineer or Safety Test Engineer.
  • Expertise in applying safety standards such as IEC 61010-1 or IEC 62368-1 or equivalent.
  • Advanced technical writing and communication skills in both German and English (fluent).
Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following skills will help you stand out:

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards, such as European Directives 2014/35/EU, (EU) 2023/1230, ISO 17025, and NRTL certifications.
  • Experience with standards like IEC 60825-1, IEC 61326-1, IEC 61000 (various parts), and IEC 60086-2-x.
