Duties
  • Serves as the Front Office Assistant Manager formulates instructions and directives necessary to conduct service-oriented and cost-effective operations.
  • Conducts reviews of guest comments, surveys, and operations to identify problems and initiates appropriate corrective action.
  • Evaluates the success of programs based on customer satisfaction. Monitors labor, and other expenses; presents analysis to the Front Office Manager.
  • Develops operating policies, programs and procedures for the department and submits them to the Manager for approval.
  • Participates in regular departmental inspections and reviews; resolves guests complaints.

  • Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation to include childcare checks.
  • This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid US Army (USAREUR) Certificate of license.

Qualifications

Progressively responsible experience, including at least one year of specialized supervisory or managerial experience at the next lower grade level or equivalent position. Must be adaptable to new assignments, and to changes in instructions, work methods, work situations and staff.

Driver's license (US state and US Army Europe) must be submitted at the time of application.

Best Qualified criteria:

  • Possess three (3) years' or more experience with a hotel property management system (e.g., Defense Lodging System/EPITOME, MICROS OPERA/Oracle OPERA PMS, HOLIDEX, Amadeus PM Pro, Guestline) or similar systems.
  • Possess one (1) year or more experience creating staffing schedules that cover a 24 hour operation that includes a 7 day per week schedule for staff.
  • Possess one (1) year experience at a hotel as a Front Desk Clerk or Lead Hotel Front Desk Position (or similar position)

The Stuttgart Lodging facilities operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year and are staffed around the clock. Scheduled tour of duty is irregular and rotational, to include mornings, evenings, nights, overnights, weekends, and US and German holidays.

You will be required to work at all Stuttgart Lodging facilities during all shifts, based on staffing requirements.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band Allowances and Differentials
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. Sunday premium may be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Night differential may be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Allowances, differentials, or incentives will not be paid.
  • Post allowance may be paid in accordance with the Department of States Standardized Regulations (DSSR), contingent upon eligibility.
