At Lilly in Germany, we are currently planning and building a high-tech production facility in Alzey (Rhineland-Palatinate), which will expand our production of injectable drugs from 2027 and employ up to 1,000 specialists. Join our Lilly team in Alzey and start as soon as possible as: Associate Director – Warehouse (m/w/d)
What tasks await you?As the Associate Director - Warehouse, you will report to the Senior Director of Supply Chain and Logistics and become an integral part of our dynamic Supply Chain and Logistics Lead team. You will play a key role in supporting system-level detailed design, creating standard operating processes, and overseeing material handling and automated storage equipment commissioning and qualification activities.
You will ensure materials are readily available for ramp-up and routine operations, and you will also be responsible for commercial product validation. Additionally, you will have the rewarding task of hiring and leading a talented team to operate our state-of-the-art warehouse.
- With your expertise in Warehouse and your leadership experience you will support site start-up and provide subject matter expertise in warehouse operations.
- You will hire staff according to the provided hiring plan.
- You will train, support, and develop all staff within your organization.
- You will lead your team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people objectives.
- You will ensure the warehouse team meets production throughput goals, including the operation of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) and supporting equipment (AGVs), and manage data, deviation, change management, variability reduction, and equipment/system reliability.
- You will ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
- You will participate in developing and deploying continuous improvement strategies, including 6 sigma and lean methodologies.
- You will partner with Intralogistics to streamline logistics operations and create, deploy, and comply with GMP procedures
- You will act as the primary interface with site operations, planning, HR, Tech Services, QC, Engineering, and Health, Safety and Environment, and support and author warehouse and logistics deviations/change controls/SOPs as necessary
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Management, or a related field. A Master's degree in any of these disciplines is desirable.
- You bring 7+ years of previous warehouse experience.
- You have a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
- You possess knowledge of the SAP ERP and e WM system.
- Your background in Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) Warehouses or Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) equips you to seamlessly integrate traditional warehouse operations with cutting-edge automation
- You have experience in GMP guidelines, Procurement/Purchasing, Planning, and Capacity planning.
- You are adept at problem-solving
- You have good German and English skills.
- You are willing to work at the Alzey site.
