As the HSE Lead, you will manage the HSE transition from the project opportunity, execution through de-mobilization. You will promote and direct the implementation of the Baker Hughes HSE requirements.
As a HSE Lead, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting HSE within the Wunstorf/Germany Site
- Acting as a subject matter expert on HSE topics including emergency preparedness and safety risk
- Developing operational HSE plans, incident prevention and compliance with local and clients HSE requirements
- Maintaining Government HSE compliance, reporting requirements, and managing the adoption of relevant policies and procedures
- Communicating Baker Hughes HSE plan with all sites location to track the implementation
- Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about design and coordination services rendered.
- Leading HSE investigations, Audits, Hazard and Risk (Assessments)Workshops and other HSE activities
- Assisting teams in the implementation of the HSE Risk Management processes (i.e. HAZOP, HAZID, Risk Assessment) and participate in Constructability HSE assessments
- Auditing and evaluating contractors HSE requirements implementation to ensure effectiveness and alignment with company Objectives
- Promoting the Company HSE Culture including the Safe to Start and STOP work policies and divulgate Company Safety Leadership Programs during Construction Project and future Plant Operation throughout specific initiatives within the organization and toward suppliers and subcontractors
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelors degree from and accredited University or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety).
- Have 3 years of proven experience in hands-on HSE site operational environments.
- Have working knowledge of HSE management systems, Local HSE regulations, and ideally also widely used international standards.
- Have relevant HSE certification e.g. NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent. ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification desirable.
- Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Holding a certification as “Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (Sifa)” (or willingness to achieve – must fulfil prerequisites)
- Be available for Travel as required
- Be fluent in German, have at least English C1 level and hold an EU passport
