Location

At our Donauwörth site, located on the banks of the river Danube, we support Airbus Helicopters in developing helicopters from the initial idea to the airworthy product. Watch them take off and touch down on our own on-site test airfield.

Task Description
  • Collaboration in the development of aircraft functions with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., calculation department, aerodynamics, materials and processes department, production, etc.)
  • Collaboration in the Engineering Change Process (ECP). Creation of decision templates with mature data for the Engineering Change Boards
  • Creation and updating of technical notes, technical descriptions, specifications, and certification documents
  • Support of suppliers for product development (from inception to certification)
  • Support of industry stakeholders in supplier deviations and in the resolution of part defects. Collaboration in necessary corrective actions
  • Taking on additional functional and/or project-related tasks (e.g. technical project planning, topic responsibility)
  • Preparation of required documentation and presentation of work results

Qualifications

The job requires knowledge and skills that are usually acquired through a relevant, completed degree with a standard period of study of up to 4 years in the area of aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable courses of study and related subject-specific additional qualifications or or completed vocational training with a corresponding particularly extensive subject-specific additional qualification.

The total required knowledge and experience may have been acquired in other ways.

Expertise
  • Knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
  • Proficiency working in a design office & have gathered practical knowledge of design principles specifically in the field of mechanical and hydraulic engineering and flight control systems
  • Experience in working with composite and metallic materials: design, manufacturing processes, etc.
  • Proficient to working with DMU and 3D product structure tools (such as Catia V5, VPM ...) and other configuration management tools
  • Proactive, team orientation and a structured personality are required
  • Fluent in German and English, French would be a benefit
  • Willingness to travel domestically and abroad
