Nanogami is a highly innovative and rapidly growing startup in the field of DNA Origami-based nanotechnology (check out our DLD Talk or this article to learn more). Our international team is driven by a shared vision: to pioneer a novel generation of biochips set to unlock applications in research and diagnostics and thereby pushing the boundaries of personalised medicine to new heights.

We recently secured significant funding by SPRIND - Germany’s Federal Agency for Disruptive Innovation to realize our ambitious growth trajectory and now aim to significantly expand our current team to support the at-scale commercialisation of our nanotechnology.

Role Overview

Join us as a Microscopist (m/w/d) and be at the forefront of pioneering surface analysis technology. In our fast-paced startup environment, you'll participate in the development of high-tech products in microscopy field, focusing on versatility and ultra-high-throughput data generation in flowcells.

What you will do
  • Perform wetlab experiments involving DNA-origamis for R&D, optimization, and troubleshooting with immediate impact on product development.
  • Independently and frequently operate customised and commercial microscopy platforms for acquisition, analysis, and development of functionalized surfaces with variable form factors, materials, and specifications, with a focus on ultra-high-throughput data generation in flowcells
  • Investigate and implement non-superresolution and super-resolution microscopy methods suited for development and industry use, on an application-specific basis with an initial focus on TIRF, fluorescence microscopy, structured illumination super-resolution, DNA PAINT
  • Collaborate with researchers from other functional areas to further develop DNA origami nanostructures for biochip and microscopy use.
Requirements
  • BTA/CTA/B.Sc. with solid expertise in life science field or training as a technical assistant with strong background in microscopy, ideally in TIRF and/or super-resolution microscopy.
  • Wet lab hands-on experience.
  • Experience with various (quantitative) microscopy techniques is beneficial
  • Having strong focus and reliability in executing experimental work in the laboratory.
  • An independent, self-motivated working manner with the ability to communicate and work effectively in an interdisciplinary team
  • A positive and open attitude combined with the willingness to learn new things and improvements
  • Good time management
  • Great English skills and good German skills
Benefits
  • Chance to build X from the ground up in a dynamic and innovative environment.
  • Opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge nanotechnology startup.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits structure.
  • An international, collaborative, and supportive work culture.
  • Flexible working models.
