Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) is looking for Technical Sales Manager - Cleaning

We are looking for Technical Sales Manager – Cleaning who will be actively growing sales by leveraging technical competences, seeking new sales opportunities. Driving the technical sales processes such as dealing with advance technical questions right through to deal closings.
Aligning with Sales & Customer Service to ensure the sales pipeline is being adequately implemented. Whilst also supporting the regional sales teams to sell Cleaning products effectively. It will be paramount to work with Key Account Managers to hunt for new as well as contracted business in order to proactively seek new sales opportunities.

Developing agreed budgets for targeted customers as well as proactively drive the quality of the sales pipeline in order to increase product penetration and growth.

You will therefore be expected to be the point of reference and authority for the Cleaning product portfolio actively promoting, implementing, championing WSS Sales Governance, sales processes and procedures whilst also driving existing and new concepts and offers.

Holding the highest level of technical and practical understanding of the Cleaning portfolio, and exhibiting a ‘can do’ forward leaning approach to internal collaboration, external interaction, and sales growth.

Who you will work with:

The Technical Sales Manager – Cleaning will report to the Head of Technical Sales - Cleaning. The Technical Sales Manager - Cleaning will also collaborate closely with the Sales & Customer Service organisation as well as Product Management, Inventory, Procurement, Pricing and the Marketing team.

What you will work on:

  • Leveraging one’s technical competence to drive meaningful sales activities, sell and close customer deals in alignment with Key Account Managers
  • Ensuring that the sales pipeline is being implemented to hit the targets as specified, based on quality opportunities on existing accounts (share of wallet) and new business
  • Supporting budgetary processes, working proactively to increase sales conversion rate and the quality of the sales pipeline – will include facilitating customer facing sales activities
  • Collaborating in developing sales material, tailoring challenger methodology presentations
  • Securing strong focus and follow-up on Newbuild and Drydock opportunities in the pipeline
  • Driving sales activities for product campaigns and promotions. From setting sales targets to qualification and provision of sales forecasts for optimal stock availability
  • Proactively seeking out the latest technical and market intelligence of the Cleaning products/services, and providing feedback to the Product, Marketing and Inventory colleagues
  • Ensuring accurate and updated information is inputted in WSS CRM system including visit reports, opportunities, deals etc.
  • Ensuring full compliance with WSS Sales Governance, policies and processes

What you need to succeed in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical studies
  • 4-5 years of technical experience from the maritime industry, preferably onboard vessels
  • Minimum 2 years of direct sales experience
  • Fluent English
