(Senior) Finance Manager
As the Senior Finance Manager for the operations, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing financial aspects of our business in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and potentially other countries. Reporting directly to the Commercial Finance Director, Europe I, you will be responsible for ensuring financial integrity, implementing strategic financial initiatives, and providing actionable insights to drive business growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with global finance colleagues, and business leaders in several areas including, but not limited to, revenue recognition, cash management; new systems design and implementation; accounting reporting and regulatory compliance.
Finance Operations:
- Support all accounting operations in the commercial legal entities and drive monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes based on IFRS in timely fashion
- Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls and processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Manage the accounting related area including but not limited to account analysis and reconciliation, AP and fixed asset administration, month end close, monthly accrual entries etcc
- Gross to Net (GTN) and Rebate Process responsibilities
- Ensure correct rebate and GTN structure in the countries and support booking provisions as needed
- Review, check and process the sick fund invoices and support issuing credit notes as necessary
- Review, control and check other potential activities that impact Gross to Net structure
- P2P process responsibilities
- Review and monitor purchase orders within the region, provide support to commercial and medical teams
- Provide OPEX and spending information to the teams as necessary
- Ensure a solid an accurate month-end, Quarter-end, Year-end process for OPEX in the countries
- Support reporting and variance analysis activities
- Drive continuous improvement of financial tools and financial accounting processes that can scale with the company's growth
FP&A:
- Business support to the forecasting process for the region
- Work as business partner to the commercial organization in DACH countries
- Involved in the forecasting process as part of Europe 1 region
- Work closely with GM and support and provide financial results and forecast
Group Reporting:
- Interact with Group reporting on technical accounting activities and ensure that group guidelines are followed
Administration/HR/payroll:
- Ad hoc task in terms of office admin, HR, etc.
Requirements
The position requires a person that has a holistic view and is willing to pick up any task financial/tax and/or administrative as required.- Strong analytical, proactive problem-solving skills, and collaboration skills critical to the role
- Experience in or knowledge of pharmaceutical industry in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and/or other markets
- Knowledge of developing and implementing efficient processes that will scale with the growing company
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; extremely organized, detail-oriented, and mindful of deadlines and internal controls
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues and solutions to all levels of management (English and German)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple functional areas in a collaborative, team environment.
- Knowledge about IFRS, Tax, and VAT requirements in Germany, Austria and Switzerland
- Hands on experience with ERP systems and accounting systems
