Business Analyst (m/f/d) - Underwriting Financial Lines

Are you passionate about data-driven decision-making and keen to work in a dynamic, international environment? We are looking for a Business Analyst (m/f/d) Underwriting Cyber, based in Munich.

In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing and steering our global Line of Business (LoB) portfolio, ensuring strategic growth, KPI reporting, financial monitoring and CAT controlling. You will work closely with senior leadership, including the Global LoB Head, the Head of Global Cyber Analytics, and Practice Leaders, to drive data-backed insights and support planning and budgeting efforts.

You will report to the Global Head of Financial Lines.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Analyze the global portfolio to support strategic underwriting decisions of the global LoB Head.
• Support various ongoing IT projects with respect of system and data requirements of the LoB as well as overall maintenance of global data quality and accuracy.
• Analyze the global portfolio and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support claims analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate and maintain global LoB reporting framework, including regular KPI reporting such as ERC.
• Collaborate with Global Performance Steering (GPS) to review LoB’s P&L and challenge assumptions when necessary.
• Analyze cost reports and contribute to expense management.
• Support Allianz steering Cycle (e.g. planning and portfolio reviews).
• Support governance topics such as business reviews.
• Support capacity and capital steering processes, including CAT modelling and monitoring.
• Support the reinsurance renewal process.
• Participate in strategic regional/global LoB projects and initiatives by providing support and coordinating activities.

• Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Actuarial background or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in International Underwriting P&C Business, Actuarial, or Reinsurance.
• Experience with relevant technical and financial analysis of industrial underwriting cases.
• Advanced pricing skills with the ability to analyze current performance against various benchmarks.
• Solid ability to assess risk inherent exposures and (natural) hazards relevant to LoB.
• Ability to manage the underwriting books, monitor appropriate investments and allocate funds; accordingly, analyze trends and scenario plans.
• Successful track of working in complex matrix and international environments.
• Agile mindset with a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, presentation and intercultural skills.
• Fluent English skills, any other languages advantageous.
