Die Gruppe von Dr. Atanasov befasst sich mit der Entwicklung von Polymeren und Membranen für Elektromembranverfahren wie Brennstoffzellen, PEM-Elektrolyse, Elektrodialyse und Redox-Flow-Batterien. Im Rahmen zahlreicher nationaler und internationaler Projekte wurden Polyelektrolyte und Kationen- und Anionenaustauschermembranen sowie organisch-anorganischen Kompositmembranen entwickelt.
Was Sie erwartet
Sie arbeiten in einem Team mit Erfahrung in der Polymersynthese, Charakterisierung und Anwendung in Brennstoffzellen.
Ihre Tätigkeit umfasst:
- Synthese von Polymeren und Membranherstellung und Charakterisierung;
- Vorbereitung von Polymermembranen zusammen mit Gasdiffusionselektroden für Membran-Elektroden-Einheiten (MEA);
- Durchführung von Brennstoffzellenmessungen und die Validierung der Ergebnisse;
- Verwaltung, Organisation und Teilnahme an DFG-Projekt.
Die Vergütung erfolgt gemäß des Tarifvertrags für den öffentlichen Dienst der Länder (TV-L, E13, 50%) in Abhängigkeit von der Qualifikation und den persönlichen Voraussetzungen.

We are looking for a PhD-candidate (m, f, d) who is willing to work for a DFG project. The position is limited to three years. The work will be done in the group "Polymer and Membrane Technology" under the supervision of Dr. Atanasov at the Institute of Chemical Process Engineering (ICVT).
The group of Dr. Atanasov is experienced in the development of polymers and membranes for electro-membrane processes such as low and high-T fuel cells, PEM electrolysis, electrodialysis and redox-flow batteries. The polyelectrolytes and membrane based on ionically and/or covalently cross-linked cation-exchange and anion-exchange membranes, and organic-inorganic composite membranes have been developed among many national and international projects.
What you can expect
You will work in a team with experience in polymer synthesis, characterization and application in fuel cells.
Your activities include:
- Synthesis of polymers, membrane preparation and characterization;
- Preparation of polymer membranes together with gas diffusion electrodes for membrane electrode assemblies (MEA);
- Fuel cell measurements and validation of the results;
- Management, organization and project meeting attending for a DFG project.
Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse costs incurred by attending interviews in our office. The employment is made by the central administration of the University of Stuttgart.
Ihre Qualifikation- Abgeschlossenes Studium der Fachrichtung Chemie, Chemieingenieurwesen, Materialwissenschaften o. ä.;
- Hohe Motivation und Selbstorganisation bei der Forschungs- und Teamarbeit;
- Gute MS-Office- und wissenschaftliche Literaturrecherche-Kenntnisse,
- Sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten auf Deutsch und Englisch in Wort und Schrift.
- Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Material Science or similar;
- High motivation and self-organization at the research and team work;
- Good MS Office and literature research skills;
- Very good communication skills in German and English in speaking and writing;
