Senior Polymer Development Specialist

Polypropylene / Superabsorbers (m/f/d)

For Lummus Novolen Technology GmbH in Mannheim/ Germany we are
looking for an experienced Senior Polymer Development Specialist – Polypropylene /
Superabsorbers (m/f/d)
to join our
Research &
Development

team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiation and management of polymer product development projects according to the company’s project
management process
  • Documentation and presentation of work results
  • Monitoring of the IP environment and technical publications in the field, collaboration with the
patent department and
contribution to the company’s IP portfolio
  • Survey of the polypropylene and other polymers markets worldwide and representation of Novolen at
conferences and fairs
  • Provision of technical support and services to our customers worldwide in the field of product
development and
application
  • Interaction with the technology licensing business in bidding and proposal processes
  • Collaboration with other departments in the organization (i.e. laboratory, Technology Management,
Catalyst R&D and

Catalyst sales)

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering or comparable qualification with strong background in
Polymer Science / Polymer processing, preferable in the field of Polypropylene and/or Superabsorbent
Polymers
  • Advanced knowledge in polymer materials and / or polymer applications demonstrated by at least 3
years professional experience in the industry or doctoral degree is required
  • Ability to lead projects and train other professionals
  • Skills in using standard software and new communication media
  • Fluent business English skills, further language skills, especially German, are advantageous
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to prepare appealing
presentations and
technical articles
  • Strong customer focus, understanding of the needs of clients
  • Structured, self-motivated and solution-oriented work style, willingness to take over
responsibility
  • Interpersonal and multicultural skills, ability to work in teams
  • Willingness to travel worldwide
