Tesla is seeking highly motivated post-secondary interns to develop and engineer new processes and high-volume automation equipment. You will work closely with Tesla’s internal Product Design, Operations, Facilities, Production and Quality Engineering teams and coordinates cross-functional activities with equipment vendors to develop new paint manufacturing equipment.You will assume full ownership of the design and technical transfer of the line’s tools to Tesla Operations, qualifying them for use with the highest standards of safety, quality, and output.
- Support in designing, installation, commissioning of manufacturing lines according to Tesla requirements.
- Preparation of trials and onsite manufacturing activities together with respective suppliers.
- Support on engineering testing and manufacturing equipment trials.
- Collaborate with production management and cross-functional teams to identify manufacturing constraints and execute solutions accordingly.
- Review of compliance with all guidelines, norms, safety and accident prevention regulations.
- Providing analysis of production data, equipment KPIs and process data.
- Learn how to maintain day-to-day stakeholder relationships.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience is a must.
- Excellent grasp of engineering fundamentals
- Experience with 2D drawing software (AutoCAD preferred).
- Experience in a high-volume factory environment.
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematic drawings, process flow diagrams and formulas.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to learn concepts quickly.
- Fluent in English, German is a plus.
