We are currently looking for a Senior Quantitative Investment Strategist (f/m/d) to join our risklab function.

risklab is the expert for investment and risk solutions within Allianz Global Investors.

In your role, you will assume responsibility for client mandates and investment strategies. You will present our strategies and the mandates in client meetings and act as a representative of the risklab team towards internal and external stakeholders.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will leverage a strong understanding of financial markets, asset classes, and macroeconomic factors to design, simulate, and implement investment strategies. A key part of your role will be applying your knowledge of portfolio construction, asset allocation, and risk management to real-world investment challenges.

The position is based in our Munich office.

What you will do
  • Take responsibility for client portfolios and their respective investment strategy
  • Customize and manage client mandates, conduct client meetings and represent the team and capabilities internally and externally
  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing the investment process, also in collaboration with technology teams on process optimization and spearhead projects that elevate efficiency and scalability
  • Develop and implement together with other quant specialists in the team new methods to further improve our investment process as well as our systematic investment strategy offering focusing on risk management
  • Work collaboratively with investment advisory and solutions specialists as well as full stack developers to translate respective needs and business requirements
  • Conduct quantitative analyses for institutional clients and prepare material to present to clients
What you bring
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in asset management with a focus on institutional client portfolios. Direct background in the areas of dynamic asset allocation or derivatives-based strategies is a plus
  • University degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Computer Science with a background in Finance or Economics or related field of study with mathematical acumen
  • Well-grounded knowledge of financial markets, different asset classes and financial instruments including derivatives
  • Profound expertise in dynamic asset allocation and/or risk management strategies implemented for institutional clients utilizing a variety of instruments (primarily derivatives such as futures, forwards, swaps and options). Experience in Portfolio Management or Trading of derivative instruments is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and precision, which allow you to structure and solve complex problems combined with a high attention to detail, and accuracy in working with numbers
  • Great presentation and communication skills and the ability to explain complex problems and solutions in a comprehensive way depending on the audience
  • Ability to efficiently handle client requests to tight deadlines and to a high quality, including coordination between various teams
  • Programming skills and experience with at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python, C# as well as Matlab are a plus
  • Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in an upbeat, fast-paced, business-critical environment
  • Ambitious demeanour, passion for advancing new topics independently and taking responsibility for their implementation and success
  • Proficiency in English and German, both verbal and written
