We are seeking a talented individual to join the TUM Bioseparation Engineering group as a Research Associate (PhD/PostDoc) for reaction optimization of mRNA-based therapeutics. The successful candidate will conduct pioneering research on reaction optimization tailored for new mRNA-based therapeutics.
You will integrate state-of-the-art analytics and hybrid modeling approaches to enhance process understanding and control, focusing on critical reaction parameters. The role also involves developing innovative strategies for enzyme and template reuse, utilizing advanced techniques such as magnetic separation and immobilization to maximize process efficiency and sustainability.

Additionally, you will collaborate in a dynamic research environment, contributing to high-impact publications and presentations at leading scientific conferences.

Applicants should hold a university degree in bioprocess engineering, bioengineering, biotechnology, biomanufacturing, or related fields. Knowledge of enzymatic reactions, advanced bioprocess analytics, and modeling techniques is highly desirable.

A passion for innovation and developing new methodologies for biomanufacturing is essential. Strong communication skills in English are required, with knowledge of German being an advantage but not mandatory.

At TUM, we offer an exciting international environment and a very well-equipped workplace. You will benefit from diverse further education opportunities (TUM Institute for LifeLong Learning, TUM Language Center), public sector pension provision, annual special payments, and TUM health offers, including university sports.

The position is full-time according to TV-L, depending on qualifications and personal suitability, and is initially limited to 2 years.

The position is suitable for people with severe disabilities.
