Data Analyst at Asset Impact - Berlin
We are looking for a skilled Data Analyst to join our team who is passionate about sustainability and loves to analyze complex data sources and improve data-related processes. This person should embrace a start-up mentality and be excited to take on new challenges as we discover them.
Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst, you'll leverage your analytical expertise to interpret data and uncover insights that drive our quality control processes, ensuring the accurate integration and communication of findings. You will also coordinate data provider feedback tracking and name-matching processes, ensuring data accuracy and smooth workflow during the refresh of our database.Additionally, you'll respond to client queries and contribute to business development or research efforts as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use your analytical skills to interpret data and generate insights that support decision-making across the Data, Client Support, and Product teams.
- Support different stages of the quarterly database refresh process, focusing on checking and ensuring the quality of our data (quality assurance and control).
- Coordinate, refine, and enhance our name-matching process, ensuring accuracy and consistency, including playing a pivotal role in improving the workflow to maintain high data quality.
- Collaborate closely with data providers to improve the data quality. This includes researching and tracking client’s feedback on our data, reviewing and consolidating the feedback collected by the rest of the team, sharing this feedback with providers, and ensuring the feedback is implemented.
- Prepare and review data products for clients, ensuring they meet their specific requirements and expectations.
- Respond effectively to client queries, providing clear and actionable responses. This often involves linking our data to publicly available information, such as company data, sector insights, or country-level statistics.
- Support business areas with product insights, including business development and product research, contributing to projects as needed.
Likewise, besides your main focus, you can be involved in other activities such as building company culture, supporting recruitment, liaising with external stakeholders (e.g., financial institutions, research institutions, data providers, etc.), and/or helping our technical efforts.
Requirements
- Right to work in Germany
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Sustainability, Economics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Python or R
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to research and answer client queries professionally and efficiently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and processes.
- Experience in business development or research activities.
- Experience in coordinating quality control processes and feedback systems.
- Previous experience in a similar role related to sustainability.
- Proficiency in SQL.
