Some so-called hard-to-abate sectors cannot yet switch to direct electrification of their processes. In these sectors, such as aviation, shipping and chemicals, green hydrogen and Power-to-X products such as ammonia, methanol, e-fuels, e-fertilisers and green steel are viable options for defossilisation.
However, the production, trade and use of these products is lagging behind the ambition of governments and the private sector to reduce emissions.On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and as part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), the International PtX Hub promotes sustainable Power-to-X to achieve climate goals and the full defossilisation of economies.

This includes policy advice on regulatory frameworks for Power-to-X, research on PtX potentials, the development of sustainability frameworks, agenda setting on conferences and in working groups, and much more. As a communications intern in the team, you will support the communication of the PtX Hub’s activities and impact, as well as the dissemination of knowledge on green hydrogen and Power-to-X itself, with a focus on its progress in Argentina, Kenya, Morocco and South Africa.

Your tasks During your internship you will carry out the following tasks: You will support the planning and implementation of all communication activities of the PtX Hub You will create and edit print and online formats incl. visual and video content (e. g., blogposts, presentations, infographics) related to PtX and hydrogen, also in collaboration with external consultants You will support the maintenance and further development of the PtX Hub website (experience in WordPress and Elementor is an advantage) You will prepare editorial and visual content for the PtX Hub LinkedIn account You will actively contribute to the successful implementation of internal and external workshops and other events You will support the day-to-day operations and project management of the PtX Hub Your profile Ongoing university studies, e.

g. in the field of communication or media sciences, public relations, marketing, political or social sciences or a journalistic education Initial work experience in communications and public relations in the form of internships or working student positions Interest in the topics of renewable energy, international cooperation and sustainability (first work experiences are an advantage) Strong ability to write and edit, including technical, content (text and visual) in a target group-oriented, understandable and appealing manner High degree of digital affinity and proven experience in working with LinkedIn Strong written communication skills, analytical thinking skills and structured approach to work At least C1 (CEFR) in English and German, French and/or Spanish is an advantage Very good Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams); knowledge of graphics and layout programs such as Adobe InDesign is an advantage Notes GIZ is a signatory of the Diversity Charter.
