Summary

Location: Erkelenz, Germany

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sourcing Leader to join our Mining and Construction group in Erkelenz, Germany. The Sourcing Leader will be responsible for leading a team of buyers, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and fulfillment of sourcing activities.

This role is critical in maintaining our competitive edge in the market by securing high-quality materials and services at the best possible prices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of buyers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to understand and meet sourcing requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, addressing any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
  • Identify and develop new supplier relationships to ensure a reliable and competitive supply base.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and availability of materials.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.
  • Prepare and present reports on sourcing performance, cost savings, and other key metrics to senior management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent and related experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with significant experience in the manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Fluent in German and English.
  • Extensive experience in sourcing, procurement, manufacturing roles, with a strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Experience as a Procurement Manager, Plant Manager or General Manager in the manufacturing industry, with a deep understanding of production processes and requirements.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies that result in cost savings and quality improvements.
  • Demonstrated success in managing supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts and resolving performance issues.
  • Strong background in market research and analysis, with the ability to stay informed about industry trends and pricing.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and continuous quality improvement systems based on KPIs.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet sourcing requirements and achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team of buyers, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
  • Experience in negotiating and collaborating with international companies to develop and deliver products and services.
