Master-Thesis in area simulations for integrated Ground Segment(d/f/m)

As trainee you will gain an overview about a real example of a Ground Segment for a complex Earth Observation mission and you will explore how to simulate its end-to-end planning capabilities.
The focus of our department is the design and implementation of turn-key solutions for complete Ground Segment, including data receiving stations, payload data processing and satellite control system.

- Design a generic simulated environment with which the Ground Segment will interact (architecture, functions, interfaces, reporting/visualization capabilities)
- Study a specific mission for implementation of simulated environment
- Implement simplified functions of the Ground Segment capable to interact with the simulated environment
- Implement the simulated environment for the chosen mission
- Demonstrate the end-to-end simulation capabilities
- Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of Computer Science, Telecommunication or an equivalent field of study
- Good programming skills (e.g. Java, Python)
- Good knowledge of Linux environment
- Good knowledge of ReST paradigm and underlying protocols
- Knowledge of virtualisation and cloud technology is an advantage
- Knowledge of Ground Segment is an advantage
- Team-player
- Good communication skills
- Self-organising
- English: advanced
- German: basic (any higher level is an advantage)
