In this role, you will play a crucial role in taking overarching ownership of all technical-related application aspects. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance Technology, you will work closely with stakeholders across the finance department to identify and implement data-driven solutions that support our strategic goals.

We are a diverse, collaborative, and supportive team of technologists, project managers and data analysts, and are responsible for a suite of in-house, cloud-hosted and outsourced applications covering accounting, financial management, financial planning, reporting, BI, and much more (SAP and Non-SAP).

Relocation support may be made available for new employees not presently residing in Frankfurt.

What you will do:

The role would require a strong understanding of cultural differences and the ability to work effectively with a geographically distributed team. As Business Analyst / Application Owner, you will support and/or be responsible for:

System Management and Maintenance:

  1. Coordinate with external providers to ensure the daily operations, maintenance, and support of the application(s).
  2. Monitor the performance and service levels provided by the external team to ensure system availability and reliability.
  3. Oversee system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in collaboration with the external provider.

Technical Leadership:

  1. Provide technical guidance and leadership to the internal team and the external provider.
  2. Ensure seamless integration and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and the external provider.
  3. Lead the design and implementation of technical solutions to meet business requirements, working closely with the external team.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  1. Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement, working with the external provider.
  2. Optimize system configurations and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, in collaboration with the external team.
  3. Implement best practices for system performance tuning and capacity planning, with input from the external provider.

System Security and Compliance:

  1. Ensure the relevant application comply with internal and external security standards and regulations, in partnership with the external provider.
  2. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security protocols, user access controls, and data protection measures by the external team.
  3. Support regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, coordinating with the external provider.

Support Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  1. Coordinate with external partners for system integrations and support.
  2. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions, involving the external team as necessary.

Stay ahead of the curve:

  1. Actively support of finance transformation activities.
  2. Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  3. Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in data warehousing and analytics.

Immediate focus areas and priorities may include:

  1. Streamlining and optimizing the dataflows between finance systems
  2. Setup of a application specific data quality control system, support for building integrated validation & control framework
  3. Managing the application lifecycle and integration aspects from phase-in to decommissioning of the application

What you bring:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills combined with good technical understanding and pro-active mindset essential
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Application Owner or similar role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the technological framework (SAP, Non-SAP) relevant to asset manager's business as well as the underlying interfaces
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to design and develop application changes
  • Ability to adapt and respond to challenging / fast-paced situations and to deal with high complexity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English. Additional German language skills would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software (e.g., Power BI).
