As first-level support, user support is the first point of contact for all service requests and faults in the area of workplace technology (information processing and telecommunications) for the administration at numerous locations in the Cologne city area.

The focus here is on creating fast and competent solutions in response to inquiries.

YOUR FUTURE TASKS:

You
  • are responsible in the team for the city-wide user support of over 10,000 users and various customer offices on the basis of individual contractual regulations (service level agreements) and process tickets that require on-site deployment
  • analyze the fault/problem situation in the customer service offices and resolve the fault or problem as quickly as possible
  • look after the hardware in the vicinity of the customer service centers on site
  • handle the organizational and technical aspects of workplace-specific procurements in the support area and support customers in their continuous development, especially with regard to mobile working capability
  • are responsible for the rollout of hardware on site
  • occasionally support the technical processes at events with a cross-city character (elections, staff at major events, etc.)
  • move the hardware within the office buildings

YOUR PROFILE:

You
  • have successfully completed an apprenticeship in a field relevant to the tasks to be performed (e.g. IT)
or
  • proven equivalent skills and experience in the IT field.

WHAT ELSE IS IMPORTANT TO US:

You
  • have professional experience and knowledge from a previous, comparable technical area of responsibility, for example in IT support
  • are familiar with provisioning and service management tools
  • have experience in supporting PC hardware and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.)
  • have a service-oriented demeanor, which is reflected, among other things, in friendliness, obliging behavior, reliability and the ability to express oneself in a manner appropriate to the addressee
  • can prioritize tasks under time pressure and have above-average time management skills
  • are open to working at staggered times (mornings and afternoons) and are willing to take on special shifts and occasional on-call duties in exceptional cases
  • have gender competence and a commitment to diversity

A future-oriented job in Cologne with a modern employer with all the advantages of the public sector and a regulated weekly working time of 39 hours for employees covered by collective agreements or 41 hours for civil servants with a high degree of flexibility within the scope of office-specific possibilities.

The position is permanent and is available both part-time and full-time.

The position is graded according to salary group A8 career group 1, 1st entry level LBesG NRW (Salary Act for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, formerly middle service) or according to pay group 9a of the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD IKT).

The salary range in pay group 9a (TVöD-IKT) is currently between 3,448.96 euros (experience level 1) and 4,703.23 euros (experience level 6).

Your professional experience will be taken into account when assigning you to the experience level within the pay group, insofar as this is possible under collective bargaining law.
