PostDoc research position in AAV vector technologies (f/m/d)

You will work in a cooperation project with an industrial partner that aims to improve the functionality of AAV vectors thereby advancing their safety and efficacy.

Within this project, you will:

  • Deeply dive into the genomics of AAV
  • Design AAV transfer constructs for a library screen
  • Produce AAVs and perform functional assays with them
  • Cooperate closely with our bioinformatics expert to train a Bayesian Neural Network with your wet-lab results to guide vector improvements
  • Learn more about specificity and limitations across serotypes and cell lines
  • Report your results regularly to our industry partner
  • Publish your results in peer-reviewed journals

Requirements for the position:

  • Dr. rer. nat. or PhD in Molecular Medicine, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology or related field
  • Demonstrated experience with:
  • Molecular genetics (cloning, recombination, mutagenesis)
  • Cell culture, ideally adherent and suspension
  • Virus/viral vector work
  • Independent way of working after an initial introduction
  • Project planning and management skills
  • Precise data analysis and documentation
  • Fluent English in conversation, documentation and presentation

The position is full-time and limited for two years. It may be extended by one more year. The earliest starting time is April 1st 2025.
