Head of Mutual Funds

The Mutual Funds team prepares ratings for open-ended investment funds of all liquid asset classes (equities, bonds, multi-asset) and assesses the asset managers of these products.

• Leads and supervises other Mutual Funds team members, staff and management in Scope Analysis
• Acts as communication point-of-contact between Scope Analysis and clients
• Takes a leading role in the development of Scope’s analytical capabilities and methodologies
• Analyses qualitative and quantitative fund aspects, such as structural risks, operational risks, legal and regulatory aspects
• Heads fund rating committees
• Monitors existing ratings and if necessary, recommends reviews and changes on a timely basis
• Can conduct discussions with clients, investors and asset managers, as well as giving presentations, explanations and briefings at a highly professional level
• Is able and ready to travel and to show flexibility in accepting tasks and duties and carrying them out as directed
• Produces high-quality, insightful and forward-looking research and analytical comments on a timely basis
• Performs as a representative for Scope towards customers and media regularly
• Introduces colleagues in new topics and passes on knowledge within the team
• Provides guidance to other team members to produce regular performance reports and analyses
• Supports Scope Funds Analysis Sales with acquisition projects and shows a strong interest in acquisition of new clients
• Uses own network and capabilities to generate and stabilize mandates from an analytical perspective

• At least 10 years of experience in the financial industry that reflect analytical and quantitative skills with a solid understanding of Mutual Funds
• Master's degree in finance, banking, economics, statistics, mathematics or equivalent qualification
• Extensive knowledge of investment strategies, such as bonds, equities and securities
• Willingness to take responsibility with an entrepreneurial attitude
• Independent thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Multi-cultural, collaborative, self-starter, versatile, inquisitive and detail-oriented personality
• Experiences in research writing with strong written and oral communication skills
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and motivate others to do the same
• Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) computer skills
• Fluency in at least a major European language (English and / or French preferred) in addition to German
