Tesla’s drive unit development team is looking for skilled and motivated performance modeling engineers to push the power electronics propelling our vehicles to the next level. The team leverages a parametric performance model, and you will develop it, maintain it, and use it to run trade-off studies, facilitate multi-objective optimization, and communicate performance expectations and requirements.

- Implement (MATLAB/Simulink) power stage loss and thermal models for traction inverter applications.
- Leverage the traction inverter model to produce repeatable and dependable results to drive vehicle architecture initiatives and roadmaps.
- Maintain and grow organically the capabilities of the model - software architecture.
- Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, PCBA, and firmware engineering teams to identify the limits of traction inverter performance.
- M.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with power converter modelling in MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience working with, developing, and maintaining custom software source code.
- Good understanding of switching waveforms, semiconductor losses and thermal behavior of power components.
- Experience with Git/Github.
Additional Preferred Skills- Knowledge of electric machines, thermal design, and mechanical design.
