We are currently looking for a Junior Quantitative Investment Strategist (f/m/d) to join our risklab function.
risklab is the expert for investment and risk solutions within Allianz Global Investors.
With your interest and skills in both financial modelling and software engineering, you will work on the design and further development of our in-house model and application infrastructure. Here you will collaborate with both investment and technology teams to build and enhance our setup, as well as ensure smooth operations.
Additionally, you will also be involved in the team’s core services where you will be able to apply your quantitative expertise to state-of-the-art investment strategy design.
The position is based in our Munich office.
What you will do- Develop, test, and maintain applications for quantitative investment strategies including strategy simulation, data handling and pricing as well as production and reporting
- Develop and implement together with other quant specialists in the team new methods to further improve our investment process as well as our strategy development capabilities
- Ensure code integrity, scalability, and performance
- Work collaboratively with investment advisory and solutions specialists as well as full stack developers to translate respective needs and business requirements
- Conduct quantitative analyses for institutional clients and prepare material to present to clients
- You hold a university degree in Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Computer Science with a background in Finance or Economics or related field of study with mathematical acumen
- Profound programming skills and experience with at least one object-oriented programming language such as Python, C# (additional experience with Matlab is a plus)
- First experience in object-oriented software design/development and testing methodologies
- Strong analytical skills which allow you to structure and solve complex problems
- Ability to explain complex problems and solutions in a comprehensive way depending on the audience
- Attention to detail and continuous desire to learn
- Basic knowledge of financial markets, different asset classes and financial instruments from a theoretical and / or a practical perspective
- Ability to efficiently handle client requests to tight deadlines and to a high quality, including coordination between various teams
- Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team, in an upbeat, fast-paced, business-critical environment
- Ambitious demeanor, passion for advancing new topics independently and taking responsibility for their implementation and success
- Proficiency in English both verbal and written (German is a plus)
- First professional experience in asset management, risk management, banking or investment consulting is a plus
