Legal Counsel (m/f/d) at Allianz SE Reinsurance Munich
Job Purpose/ Role
The Legal Team of Allianz Re supports the Allianz reinsurance divisions providing expert guidance and advisory, transactional and regulatory support across multiple lines of business and business units in multiple jurisdictions. The Legal Team is also responsible for governance and data privacy matters.You will provide business oriented legal advice to enable the Allianz Re business as well as safeguard the interests of the company, to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations and to counsel senior management. You will be part of the Allianz Re's Legal Function in Munich.
Key responsibilities- Provision of legal advice and transaction support on reinsurance transactions
- Advice on contractual structures, identify and address legal risks, review and draft standard wordings, reinsurance agreements, specific clauses or specific products as requested by the respective department.
- Provide support on drafting, reviewing, amending and updating other agreements and documents.
- Provide legal advice and drive legal workstream activities for strategic intra-group projects.
- Stay abreast of legal developments and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice and support.
- Support in case of disputes and oversee and manage external legal counsels, where applicable
- Support the development of technical expertise, training, knowledge sharing and lessons learned sessions with respect to legal aspects.
- German qualified lawyer (or foreign equivalent) with excellent State Exams
- Fluent in German and English, other languages are an advantage
- 3+ years of experience practicing in law firms or in-house legal teams at international companies (preferably, in the (re-)insurance sector)
- Excellent legal drafting skills with high attention to details. Ability to build and foster relationships across various business areas and stakeholders across the Allianz Group;
- Strong communication skills with the ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally in English;
- Ability to take initiative and solve problems;
- Flexibility to work independently and as part of a diverse global team in different time zones as well to develop and motivate colleagues;
- Strong influencing and negotiations skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments with a cross functional view with a high degree of autonomy
