In 2021, Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University and the University of Duisburg-Essen established the Research Alliance Ruhr to bundle their cuï¿oeng-edge internaï¿oeonal research on the most urgent challenges humankind faces.
There are four research centers and a college. This is just the latest chapter in our long-standing collaboraï¿oeon as the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr), a community of 14,000 researchers and 120,000 students in the heart of Germany.
As part of the Research Alliance Ruhr, the College for Social Sciences and Humaniï¿oees is seeking to ï¬ll the following posiï¿oeon in the Department of Social Sciences at TU Dortmund University as soon as possible:

Your Responsibiliï¿oees
You demonstrate excellent achievements in the research area of . In doing so, you parï¿oecipate in research networks and cooperaï¿oeons within and outside TU Dortmund University, especially within the framework of the College for Social Sciences and Humaniï¿oees.You are commiï¿oeed to promote early career researchers and parï¿oecipate appropriately in the teaching acï¿oeviï¿oees of the department.
Your Qualiï¬caï¿oeons
You hold a doctorate obtained with above-average success and have acquired a post-doctoral lecture qualiï¬caï¿oeon (Habilitaï¿oeon) or an equivalent qualiï¬caï¿oeon. You have a disï¿oenct sociological and interdisciplinarily open- minded research proï¬le with a focus on the Theory and Pracï¿oece of Knowledge and Non-Knowledge, which is documented by relevant publicaï¿oeons in internaï¿oeonally recognized organs, including peer-reviewed journals, especially in the last years.
Naï¿oeonal publicaï¿oeons are desired. Beyond this, you are experienced in qualitaï¿oeve and/or quanï¿oetaï¿oeve empirical research in the ï¬eld of the denominaï¿oeon and have been successful in the independent acquisition of compeï¿oeï¿oevely awarded third- party funding.
Moreover, you have the potenï¿oeal for outstanding teaching performance and the ability and willingness to teach courses in English.
Social and leadership skills and the willingness to parï¿oecipate in academic self-administraï¿oeon complete your proï¬le. Moreover, the recruitment requirements in Secï¿oeons 36 and 37 of the North Rhine-Westphalia Higher Educaï¿oeon Act (Gesetz über die Hochschulen des Landes Nordrhein- Wesï¿oealen, HG) apply.
The teaching load is reduced to four weekly hours per semester.
Aï¿oeracï¿oeve Environment
The College for Social Sciences and Humaniï¿oees is a joint academic insï¿oetuï¿oeon of the Ruhr University Bochum, TU Dortmund University and the University of Duisburg-Essen, based in Essen.
In addiï¿oeon to strengthening cuï¿oeng-edge research in the humaniï¿oees and social sciences at the UA Ruhr, a key aim of the college is to increase the internaï¿oeonal networking and visibility of research in the humaniï¿oees and social sciences conducted within the UA Ruhr.
For this purpose, the college is home to interdisciplinary research professorships and junior research groups and oï¬'ers a senior fellowship program aimed at top internaï¿oeonal researchers.
Together with members of the UA Ruhr, the researchers work on current topics and develop collaboraï¿oeve projects.
Research Alliance Ruhr
The Research Alliance Ruhr is a joint undertaking of the three major universiï¿oees in the Ruhr area and was iniï¿oeated by the Ruhr Conference.
The four research centers will focus on "One Health Ruhr," "Chemical Sciences and Sustainability," "Trustworthy Data Science and Security," and "Future .- In addiï¿oeon, the Research Alliance Ruhr is establishing a "College for Social Sciences and Humaniï¿oees".
