We invite applications for the position of Manager of the SurveyLab. The SurveyLab is a core facility of the University of Konstanz, supporting researchers of the University with their surveys. The SurveyLab acts in close collaboration with the Working Group of Survey Methods in the Department of Sociology.The manager-s responsibility is to support researchers with their surveys, develop the capacities of the SurveyLab in innovative field of survey research and make an independent contribution to survey methods research.
The Surveylab is part of the Cluster of Excellence -The Politics of Inequality- which brings together researchers from political science, sociology, economics, linguistics, and related disciplines. Together, they study the political causes and consequences of inequality, focusing on how people perceive inequalities, how these perceptions influence collective mobilisation, and how political actors react.In doing so, we adopt a broad perspective on inequality, examining dimensions such as education, income, wealth, environmental conditions, political and social rights, as well as privileges.
Your Responsibilities
Support researchers in designing, implementing and conducting survey studies at the Cluster and the University
Support survey researchers with the management of their data
Further develop capacities of the SurveyLab in innovative fields (such as AI use, data linkage, survey experiments)
Produce high-quality and internationally visible research publications on survey methodology
Establish collaborations with researchers in the Cluster
Your Competencies
PhD in the social sciences
Experience in survey methods research
Specific focus on at least one modern development of survey research (such as AI use, data linkage, survey experiments)
International orientation in research networks and output
Ability and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations
