What You’ll Do
As a PIC Researcher at Keysight Laboratories, you will leverage your expertise to:
- Identify and evaluate emerging PIC technologies, understanding how they can be harnessed to support Keysight’s goals.
- Invent and develop innovative measurement concepts or implementations that create a meaningful impact.
- Validate these concepts through theoretical analysis, simulations, PIC layouts, and hardware/software prototypes.
- Collaborate closely with Keysight business units to transfer proven technologies into commercial products.
- Focus on practical, scalable solutions while keeping an eye on packaging and commercialization.
This position requires close collaboration with colleagues and must be performed on-site at our Boeblingen, Germany office to foster innovation and teamwork effectively.
Qualifications:
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g., Photonics, Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering).
- Proven ability to conduct innovative research in integrated photonics.
- Experience in photonic simulation, modeling, design, and layout.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English.
- Self-motivation and a collaborative mindset to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
While not required, the following skills will help you stand out:
- Experience with script-based PIC layout.
- Hands-on expertise in optical and electrical test and measurement instrumentation.
- Verbal communication skills in German.
- Familiarity with PIC foundry tape-out processes.
- Experience with photonic packaging.
- Lab automation skills for instrument control and data acquisition.
