Head of Local Products

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority across the organization for one or more software development and engineering disciplines. Each day, you will coordinate and facilitate relevant assignments across several projects and within the entire value chain.

You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring development assignments are carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner, in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.

This role is contributing to the DEPAEN Local Products in Mannheim, Germany. Main stakeholders are ABB’s customers and project engineers working with these customers.

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Taking a lead role in co-creating and presenting complex technical solutions.
  • Planning and executing development activities for new and existing software products used within ABB and throughout our customers’ systems.
  • Working with the customer (internal and external) to shape and deliver solutions and seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.
  • Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the technical solutions are appropriately developed, tested, and delivered and processes are being followed.

Qualifications for the role
  • You enjoy working with developers and project engineers and the Energy Industries market
  • You have 2+ years of experience in software development or project engineering
  • Possess an enhanced knowledge of Control Systems and process automation
  • You are passionate about providing value to the customer and creating innovative solutions
  • Bachelor’s degree in / Extensive knowledge of Information technology
  • You are at ease communicating in German and English
