We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Finance and Grants Acquisition Manager to join our Business Operations & Finance team. This role will be pivotal in securing both debt financing and non-dilutive funding sources to support our projects and growth.

You will collaborate closely with our CEO and senior leadership team, shaping our financial strategy while fostering relationships with funding agencies and financial institutions.

Please be aware that tozero does not offer any remote (zero remote) - we believe in building a strong culture at this stage of the company, especially with engineers having to work on-site in the plant and lab.

Tasks

What you can expect
  • Develop and execute strategies for securing debt financing to support future project needs
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for public subsidies, grants, and government funding programs relevant to our projects
  • Prepare detailed financial models and documentation required for debt financing applications
  • Manage reporting and compliance obligations associated with public subsidies and grants
  • Ensure the timely submission of grant proposals by managing timelines and effectively record and track the entire non-equity fundraising pipeline
  • Assemble and organize data, figures, protocols and other relevant documentations;
  • Prepare, write and submit high-quality grant applications, ensuring compliance with all guidelines and requirements;
  • Maintain relationships with funding agencies, organizations, political groups, and other relevant parties
  • Keep up to date with funding trends, policies and regulations

Requirements

The background we would like to see
  • Experience : 3 years+ of experience in fundraising, grant writing, or financial management, preferably in a tech startup or high-growth environment
  • Proven experience in preparing financial models, managing debt agreements, and proven track record in securing non-dilutive funding;
  • Degrees: Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA, PhD, or relevant qualifications in chemical or industrial engineering are a plus
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills;
  • Excellent project management skills alongside an exemplary attention to detail;
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and funding mechanisms;
  • German and English speaking is mandatory

  • After reviewing your documents we will get back to you and schedule an Intro Call where you learn about tozero, our mission and the team. We get to know you and understand your motivation
  • Prior to the next session you will receive a case study to work on. This part is important to us to assess your cultural and business fit for the role. Your case will then be challenged by our CEO Sarah in the second interview
  • In the third interview, you will talk to Ksenija our CTO and we will evaluate your fit to our company culture (culture, values, working style, etc..)
  • If both parties are happy we will make you an offer and you can start right away
