To strengthen its European operations, the firm is seeking a Finance and Operations Manager to oversee all financial and operational functions beyond investment and portfolio management.
This position offers the opportunity to shape the finance function, build efficient systems, and contribute to the firm's strategic growth. The role is based in Munich, with a hybrid work setup and occasional European travel for team workshops.
What the job involves
- Oversight of fund accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, ensuring efficiency and cost optimization
- Management of compliance and audit processes, including coordination of external audits and tax filings
- Preparation of financial and performance reports for limited partners, ensuring transparency and accuracy
- Management of corporate accounting of the operating entity
- Acting as the liaison with the finance team at group headquarters in Montreal
- Collaboration with the investment team to support deal execution and financial due diligence
- Coordination of cross-functional strategic projects across HR, Marketing, and other operational areas
- Continuous improvement of financial systems and internal processes to enhance scalability and efficiency
- Working with various external stakeholders (tax advisors, accountants, auditors, etc)
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CFA or equivalent certification is an advantage)
- Professional experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Audit, or Fund Operations
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong technical and analytical skills, with proficiency in modern finance and productivity tools
- Demonstrated integrity, resilience, and collaborative mindset, with curiosity for the venture capital industry
- Experience in VC fund operations and knowledge of corporate or tax law is advantageous
- Ability to work internationally and manage entities in countries such as Luxembourg, Spain and potentially others
- Immediate availability preferred
- Fluency in English
